About

An avid wearer of headwraps and hairbands, Martine designs headwear accessories to crown your day. From work time to play time, hot dates to wedding days her collection of accessories are designed to make every occasion feel special.

Craft, culture and couture are at the heart of the brand. Inspired by nature and traditional craft techniques Martine frequently draws on her Afro Caribbean heritage for design muse. From African hairstyles such as Bantu knots and intricate braids informing silhouettes to the vibrant clothing and costumes of different nations both on the continent and within the diaspora. Fine wax cottons and luxurious silks combine with exotic straws blending the pristine of nature with a riot of colour.

Martine studied millinery at London College of Fashion before attaining a distinction in the highly regarded HNC in Millinery at Kensington and Chelsea College. In 2013 she was awarded a Feltmakers Design Award.

Prior to setting up her own millinery brand in 2013 Martine worked in publishing where she honed an eye for detail which she applies to her millinery practice. Her millinery career includes time with  Gina Foster, Stephen Jones, RIZVI Millinery and John Boyd Hats. She has worked for and taught millinery workshops for Atelier Millinery and London Hat Week since its inception. Her hats have been stocked in Fenwicks and Atelier Millinery. She has designed hats and headpieces for award winning bridal label Eliza Jane Howell.

In 2019 Martine collaborated with Stephen Jones OBE to design African Wax print head wraps and hair bands for Dior under designer Maria Grazia Chiuri for the Common Ground Cruise 2020 collection.
